No number coding during the 8-day long holidays

There had been conflicting reports about the number coding scheme in Metro Manila during the 8-day long holidays.

I understand this traffic scheme is not in effect during Saturdays, Sundays, and non-working holidays (regular or special). Unless there’s declaration otherwise, there’s no number coding on this period.

I'm not feeling well

Last Thursday night, I felt my throat itching a bit. To relieve it, I drank plenty of water albeit cold. I thought the itchiness has gone; and, I slept.

When I woke up the following morning, my voice’s hoarse, I sneezed a lot, and spewed some phlegms.

My Executive Check-up 2008

For the past two years, I had my executive check-ups (ECU) done at the St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC). I found its ECU services good. Hence, this year, I was planning to have my ECU at the same hospital again. However, my office mate had hers in another hospital, Capitol Medical Center (CMC). I checked its ECU packages and decided on trying this hospital.

CMC offers four ECU packages:

  • Package A (in-patient) at P36,900
  • Package B (in-patient) at P31,900
  • Package C (out-patient) at P11,700
  • Package D (out-patient) at P6,700.

He prevailed over the Golden Boy - Oscar De La Hoya in the Dream Match. Prior to the fight, it was a mismatch statistically in favor of De La Hoya. But, actually, it was a lopsided game in favor of Pacquiao.

Smoke belchers

November is Clear Air month.

The Land Transportation Office requires that all vehicles for renewal of certificate of registration must be subject and pass the smoke test to be conducted by an LTO accredited smoke testing center.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) and Local Government are also conducting actual smoke testings on the roads.

These measures, if properly and strictly implemented and enforced, would minimize if not eliminate, smoke belching vehicles plying our roads.

However, I wondering why there are still so many smoke belching vehicles running within the metropolis.
