Today is the 110th anniversary of the Declaration of the Philippine Independence. Today is supposed to be a non-working holiday to give Filipino people the chance to celebrate it. Due the holiday economics of the government, it was moved to the nearest Monday, which was last Monday – June 9, 2008. Nonetheless, all activities and celebrations in commemoration of the Independence Day shall still be observed today. (Proclamation no. 1463-A)
